अमेरिकी विदेश विभाग के प्रवक्ता नेड प्राइस ने एक प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस को संबोधित करते हुए कहा था कि भारत में वैक्सीन्स की शिपमेंट कब तक पहुंचेगी, इसके बारे में मेरे पास कोई विशेष जानकारी नहीं है। उन्‍होंने कहा कि बेशक भारत को उन आठ करोड़ टीकों का एक हिस्सा मिलेगा, जो कि कोवैक्स के जरिए से दिया जाएगा। मेरा मानना है कि उस क्षेत्र के लिए लगभग 60 लाख टीके होंगे। बता दें कि कई देशों के लिए कोरोना वैक्सीन मुहैया करवाने के लिए कोवैक्स का गठन किया गया है।

विदेश विभाग के प्रवक्ता ने आगे कहा कि हम जानते हैं कि भारत को इस महामारी से बहुत नुकसान हुआ है। उन्‍होंने कहा कि जैसा कि हमने इन टीकों के मामले में किया है, वैसा ही हमने वैक्सीन को साझा करने की घोषणा से पहले भी किया था। हमने इस महामारी से बाहर निकलने का रास्ता दिखाने में मदद करने के लिए भारत में अपने भागीदारों के साथ मिलकर काम करने की अपनी प्रतिबद्धता को भी बताया है।

बता दें कि कोरोना की महामारी शुरू होने के बाद अमेरिका ने भारत की काफी मदद की है। दूसरी लहर के दौरान बड़ी संख्या में अमेरिका ने मेडिकल सप्लाई मुहैया करवाई थी। इसमें वेंटिलेटर्स, ऑक्सीजन कंसेंट्रेटर्स आदि शामिल थे। प्रवक्ता ने दावा किया था कि बाइडन प्रशासन भारत सरकार और वहां के लोगों को इस महामारी से उबारने में मदद करने की अपनी प्रतिबद्धता पर कायम है। प्राइस ने कहा था हम लगातार प्राइवेट सेक्टर से संपर्क बनाए हुए हैं। उन्‍होंने कहा कि हमने भारत के लिए टीकों की अपनी प्रतिबद्धता के बारे में बात भी की है।

बता दें कि 2 जून को अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति ने घोषणा की थी कि अमेरिका समर्थित कोवैक्स ग्लोबल वैक्सीन शेयरिंग प्रोग्राम के तहत अपने भंडार से कोविड के 75 फीसद 2.5 करोड़ डोज की पहली किश्त में से तकरीबन 1.9 करोड़ आवंटित करेगा। यह दक्षिण और दक्षिण-पूर्व एशिया के साथ-साथ अफ्रीका के लिए भी होंगी। बाइडन का यह कदम जून के आखिरी तक वैश्विक स्तर पर आठ करोड़ वैक्सीन्स को शेयर करने के लिए उनके प्रशासन के फ्रेमवर्क का एक हिस्सा है।

3.2 अरब डॉलर में से 50 करोड़ डॉलर शोध और विकास के लिए

फाउची ने कहा कि 3.2 अरब डॉलर में से 50 करोड़ डॉलर शोध और विकास तथा एक अरब डॉलर प्री क्लिनिकल ट्रायल और क्लिनिकल ट्रायल के लिए प्रयोग किया जाएगा। उन्‍होंने कहा कि 70 करोड़ डॉलर का इस्‍तेमाल निर्माण के लिए किया जाएगा। साथ ही एक अरब डॉलर का इस्‍तेमाल नए एंटीवायरल ड्रग डिस्‍कवरी सेंटर का निर्माण करने के लिए किया जाएगा। गौरतलब है कि दुनिया में हेप‍िटाइटिस बी और एड्स जैसे कई वायरस का इलाज दवा के जरिए किया जा सकता है।

कोरोना वायरस के लिए कोई दवा नहीं

हालांकि, अभी तक कोरोना वायरस के लिए किसी तरह की दवा नहीं है। कोरोना से निपटने के लिए अमेरिका में केवल रेमडेसिविर ही एकमात्र दवा है। इसे कोरोना संक्रमितों के मरीजों के इलाज में मंजूरी दी गई है। इसे भी इंजेक्‍शन से देना पड़ता है। इस नए कार्यक्रम एंटी वायरल प्रोग्राम फॉर पैनडेमिक्‍स के जरिए दवाओं के शोध के लिए खाली जगह को भरा जा सकेगा। फाउची ने कहा कि उनको उस दिन का इंतजार है, जब किसी इंसान को कोरोना संक्रमण होता है और वह तत्‍काल दवा की दुकान से इसकी दवा लेकर खा लेता है। दुनिया में इस समय कई दवाओं का परीक्षण चल रहा है। इसमें एक फाइजर की भी दवा शामिल है।

दुनिया में कोरोना के 17.73 करोड़ से ज्‍यादा मामले

पूरे विश्व में कोरोना के मामले बढ़कर 17.73 करोड़ हो गए हैं। इस महामारी से अब तक कुल 38.4 लाख से ज्यादा लोगों की मौत हुई है। वर्तमान कोरोना के मामले और मरने वालों की संख्या क्रमश: 177,355,602 और 3,840,181 है। दुनिया में सबसे ज्यादा मामलों और मौतों की संख्या क्रमश: 33,508,384 और 600,933 के साथ अमेरिका सबसे ज्यादा प्रभावित देश बना हुआ है। कोरोना संक्रमण के मामले में भारत 29,700,313 मामलों के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर है।

राष्‍ट्रपति बाइडन के सलाहकार व अमेरिका के शीर्ष संक्रामक रोग विशेषज्ञ एंथनी फाउची ने इस योजना के लिए अरबों डॉलर के निवेश का ऐलान किया है। इस पैसे के जरिए विभिन्‍न दवाओं के क्लिनिकल ट्रायल को तेज किया जाएगा। यह दवा कोरोना वायरस से संक्रमित मरीज के गंभीर रूप से बीमार होने से पहले ही उसको बेकार कर देंगी। अगर यह ट्रायल सफल रहता है तो इस साल के आखिर तक दुनिया में कोरोना वायरस की पहली दवा सामने आ सकती है।

अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति जो बाइडन, उनकी पत्नी जिल और उपराष्ट्रपति कमला हैरिस व उनके पति डगलस ने 2020 के अपनी आमदनी के रिटर्न घोषित कर दिए हैं। रिटर्न के मुताबिक कमला हैरिस जो बाइडन की आमदनी से ढाई गुना से ज्यादा कमाती हैं। बाइडन की जितनी आमदनी है, उससे ज्यादा वह टैक्स देती हैं। बाइडन की 2019 के मुकाबले पिछले साल आमदनी भी घट गई है।

   व्हाइट हाउस के अनुसार अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति जो बाइडन और उनकी टीचर पत्नी जिल ने 2020 में लगभग छह लाख सात हजार डॉलर (करीब चार करोड़ 43 लाख रुपये) की कमाई की है। 2019 में इस दंपति की आमदनी 9 लाख 85 हजार डॉलर (करीब सात करोड़ 18 लाख रुपये) थी। 2019 के मुकाबले पिछले साल उनकी आमदनी में कमी आई है। उनकी आमदनी पर 25.9 फीसद की टैक्स दर रही।

उपराष्ट्रपति कमला हैरिस और उनके पति डगलस एमहॉफ की आमदनी 2020 में लगभग 17 लाख डॉलर (करीब 12 करोड़ 38 लाख रुपये) रही। इस दंपति ने सरकार को छह लाख 21 हजार डॉलर का टैक्स चुकाया। उनके लिए प्रभावी टैक्स दर 36.7 फीसद रही। अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति और उनकी पत्नी की जितनी कमाई है, उससे ज्यादा कमला हैरिस ने इनकम टैक्स दिया। कमला हैरिस ने सवा लाख डॉलर का टैक्स कैलिफिोर्निया में और उनके पति ने 56 हजार डॉलर का टैक्स कोलंबिया में दिया। 2020 में उन्होंने 27 हजार डॉलर दान में दिए।

बंगाल में फिर एक की मौत, छह घायल

बंगाल में विधानसभा चुनाव के नतीजों के बाद से जारी राजनीतिक हिंसा थमने का नाम नहीं ले रही है। बीरभूम जिले में शुक्रवार रात हिंसा में एक व्यक्ति की मौत हो गई जबकि छह लोग घायल हो गए। जानकारी के मुताबिक, घटना मुक्तिनगर गांव की है जहां भारतीय जनता पार्टी और तृणमूल कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं के बीच झड़प हो गई। घायलों का सूरी के अस्पताल में इलाज चल रहा है। बता दें कि यह घटना उस समय हुई है जब केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय का एक दल राज्य में हिंसा की पड़ताल कर रहा है। 

जुधाजित सेन मजूमदार सिलिकॉन वैली में व्यापार करते हैं। प्रदर्शन में शामिल होने के दौरान उन्होंने बताया कि अक्सर पश्चिम बंगाल जाते रहते हैं। चुनाव के बाद से सभी मिलने वालों के पास फोन आने लगे। ऐसा लग रहा था कि वहां पर नियोजित तरीके से नरसंहार किया जा रहा है। इस हिंसा के विरोध में अमेरिका के कई शहर ही नहीं ब्रिटेन सहित कई अन्य देशों में भी प्रदर्शन किए गए हैं। प्रदर्शनकारियों की मांग हिंसा की उच्चस्तरीय जांच और दोषियों के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई करने की थी। ह्यूस्टन में रहने वाले लेखक सहाना सिंह ने कहा कि वे कोलकाता में पले बढ़े हैं। जिस तरह की हिंसा चुनाव के बाद बंगाल में हुई हैं, ऐसा सिर्फ देश में विभाजन के दौरान ही हुआ था।
